Welcome to The Notebook.

I’m Scott Sullivan, a pastor, writer, and a lover of God’s Word. I believe God often meets us in ordinary moments…around a kitchen table, with an open Bible, over a cup of coffee, or while remembering the people and places that shaped our faith.

Most mornings you’ll find me with an open Bible, a notebook, a pen, and a fresh cup of coffee. It’s there that many of the devotions and Southern stories you read here begin.

I created The Notebook as a place to share weekly devotions, Southern stories, and reflections from everyday life. My prayer is that every page points people to Christ, encourages their faith, and reminds them that God’s presence is often found in the ordinary moments of life.

I’ve had the privilege of serving in ministry for many years and currently serve as pastor of Cambridge Baptist Church in Gautier, Mississippi. I earned my bachelor’s degree from The University of Southern Mississippi and my master’s degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. God has also given me the privilege of encouraging others through books, devotions, Bible studies, and preaching.

When I’m not writing or preparing sermons, you’ll usually find me spending time with my wife, Angela, and my girls, enjoying a good cup of coffee, cheering for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, or just enjoying life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Whether you’re here for a daily devotion, a Southern story, or simply a word of encouragement, I hope you’ll find something that points you to Christ. Thank you for stopping by.
